What's your favorite craft to do- and what's your favorite project you've done so far in that category (including pics if you have some of it !!!!)
Asking me to pic a favorite craft is like picking a favorite child, I need you to understand this deeply lol. There is a reason why I am a jack of all trades, and it is literally because I cannot limit myself to a singular craft type lol. I do keep coming back to sewing and jewelry most of the time, though, as those were some of the earliest crafts I can recall learning/self teaching. Most of the more traditional visual arts I do/did (drawing, painting, etc) were because they were required classes to get into the ones I really wanted, which was glass, ceramics, and my favorite art class ever, mixed media. [Anna I fully realize this is getting off track but bear with me lol]
If I had to pick a favorite project from that mixed media class, it would have to be one of the (many) tree-themed projects for that class. It is basically a tie between the book sculpture project, and the Tangled Trees. I called it that in my head because they featured a purple sky and yellow lanterns that greatly reminded me (conceptually) of that one scene from Tangled, which at the time I was mildly obsessed with (teenage girl escapes abusive parent was a trending theme in my life for a long time, I wonder why?).
The book sculpture was basically me making The Hanging Tree from the Hunger Games (the book sculpture had to have some sort of tie in with the books we chose). I did a such a good job making my wire tree that my teacher actually used it to show to her sculpture class, because their actual assignment was making wire trees (and they were struggling lol, nature loving autistic kid obsessed with trees for the win lol).
These classes started a lifelong love affair with mixing media to make art and crafts the way I wanted. I love to recycle things that I find, use them in unique ways, blending together all sorts of different elements to create things that are 100% unique. It's why I used lace tablecloths to make quilts. It's why I used repurposed jewelry charms as accents on handmade bags. It's why I used book pages to cut out paper leaves to glue to a wire tree that featured a twine noose parallel a swing. It's why I retain all of the techniques I've learned and used over the years. Everything I do incorporates at least two, if not more, artistic techniques and visions that lead to no two of my projects being the same. I am unable to pick a favorite craft, because I use and do everything. I do whatever I need to accomplish an artistic vision, and because of this, 99.9% of the time, what you see as the end project is exactly what I saw in my mind before I set to work. And if it doesn't look like how I originally pictured it, it's because I found some technique or skill or add-on to make it better than what I pictured.
That all being said, here's some pictures of some of my favorite projects over the years:
#the fifth pic is those Tangled Trees#I don't have a picture of the other one bc I didn't use it for my college portfolio lol

🌸 & 💫 - for Lyssa!
i got this ask A WHILE BACK but foolishly saved it as a draft, meaning that i. entirely forgot about it
🌸 - What are some of their favourite things and why? List as many as you can think of!
lyssa likes A LOT OF THINGS. her whole thing is maximalism. so let’s go stream of consciousness and see what we can come up with. old things, things with weird stories behind them, glittery things, bright colours, clashing patterns, layered fabrics, tie-dye, flowers, ceramics, boxes, tea parties, fancy dress, the opportunity to make something An Occasion, magic tricks, real magic, impossible colours, wikipedia, myspace, dictionaries, diaries, things in piles, things neatly organised, printers’ trays, typewriters, fancy calligraphy, writing letters, receiving letters, cats, ferrets, vocaloid music, learning new things, being a bit strange on purpose, coordinating outfits with your friends, stained glass, pigeons, handmade paper, fishnet gloves, the texture of velvet, knitting, things that are smaller than they should be, live music, committing to the bit, learning secrets, mysteries, frogs, her friends. i’ve just realised this question also says “and why” but i’m not giving an explanation for every one of those things, god bless.
💫- What is your favourite fact about this character and why?
this is actually surprisingly hard because i like a lot of things about her but. let’s pick one i find endearing: she makes really terrible sandwiches. she has no idea, because she obviously can’t make them, but she keeps offering them to people with personal masquerade and they keep politely acting like they’re edible.

Interior Elegance: Creating Your Dream Home"
In the realm of interior design, creating a space that reflects your personality and enhances your lifestyle is akin to crafting a masterpiece. Your home is more than just a physical structure; it's a canvas where your dreams and aspirations come to life. Achieving interior elegance involves a blend of creativity, functionality, and a keen eye for detail. Here’s how you can embark on the journey of transforming your living space into a haven of elegance and charm.
Understanding Your Style
The foundation of any well-designed home interior is a clear understanding of your personal style. Whether you gravitate towards modern minimalism, classic elegance, or eclectic bohemian vibes, defining your aesthetic preferences sets the stage for cohesive design decisions. Take inspiration from various sources such as interior design magazines, Pinterest boards, or even nature walks. Collect images and ideas that resonate with you to create a mood board that captures the essence of your dream home.
Creating a Functional Layout
Once you have a vision for your space, the next step is to optimize its functionality. Consider the flow of movement within each room and how different areas will be used on a daily basis. Start by evaluating the existing layout and identifying any potential challenges or opportunities for improvement. This might involve rearranging furniture, adding storage solutions, or even restructuring walls to create open, inviting spaces.
Choosing the Right Color Palette
Color plays a pivotal role in shaping the ambiance of a room. Whether you prefer soothing neutrals, vibrant accents, or dramatic contrasts, selecting the right color palette can elevate the overall aesthetic of your home. Keep in mind that colors evoke different emotions and moods, so choose hues that resonate with the atmosphere you wish to cultivate in each space. Experiment with paint samples and swatches to see how natural light interacts with different shades throughout the day.
Layering Textures and Materials
Texture adds depth and richness to a room, transforming it from ordinary to extraordinary. Incorporate a variety of textures such as plush textiles, natural fibers, sleek metals, and rustic woods to create visual interest and tactile appeal. Mix and match different materials to strike a balance between comfort and sophistication. For instance, pair a soft velvet sofa with a weathered wooden coffee table to create a harmonious juxtaposition of textures.
Curating Thoughtful Décor Elements
Accessories and décor accents serve as the finishing touches that tie the entire design scheme together. Choose pieces that reflect your personality and tell a story about your life experiences. From statement artwork and decorative lighting fixtures to handcrafted ceramics and vintage collectibles, each item should contribute to the overall narrative of your home. Remember that less is often more when it comes to décor, so be selective and purposeful in your choices.
Embracing Sustainability and Quality
Incorporating sustainable practices and investing in quality furnishings are essential aspects of creating an elegant interior that stands the test of time. Opt for eco-friendly materials, energy-efficient appliances, and durable furniture pieces that prioritize both style and longevity. Consider supporting local artisans and craftsmen who create handmade goods using traditional techniques, adding a unique touch of craftsmanship to your home.
Conclusion
Achieving interior elegance is a journey that involves creativity, attention to detail, and a deep appreciation for the art of design. By defining your style, optimizing functionality, and curating thoughtful elements, you can transform your living space into a sanctuary of beauty and comfort. Embrace the process of designing your dream home as an opportunity to express yourself and create a lasting legacy of elegance for years to come.

Tips For Tiling a Tiled Shower
Tiling a large space like a shower wall can be expensive. If you’d like to save money, read on for a few tips. First, choose a color and pattern for your tiled shower. Next, consider how to clean the tiles. Finally, choose a grout that will be easy to clean.
Tiling a large space like a shower wall can be expensive
Tiling a large space like a bathroom shower wall can be an expensive project. There are several options for tiling a shower wall, and the biggest factor in price is the size of the space. You can tile a shower with a variety of materials, including large format porcelain tiles, handmade ceramic tiles, stone in various forms, and glass tiles. If you are considering tiling your shower, be sure to choose the right material for your needs and budget.
The cost of tiling a large space such as a shower wall will vary depending on the tile you choose, the number of tiles you want to install, and the type of installation you choose. You can save up to 10% by purchasing your tile directly from the company, and some contractors will offer discounts if you combine multiple projects. The installation process itself is expensive, and you might want to consider hiring a professional to ensure that the finished space is of a high quality.
A large shower wall is generally five by eight feet, so the cost of tiling two walls can cost anywhere from $780 to $2,600. You will also need to pay for cement backer board, which adds another 10% to 30% to the cost per square foot. In addition to tiles, you’ll also need to add border materials to make your shower look more beautiful.
It’s worth getting at least three estimates for your project before you make a decision. This will ensure that you have the most accurate information. It can take up to two days to complete a shower wall, depending on the complexity of the project. A typical two-day project will consist of preparing the area, laying the tile, filling the mortar, and wiping down the area.
The cost of tiling a shower wall depends on the type of tile you choose and the contractor you hire. Using ceramic or porcelain tiles is a popular choice because they are easy to maintain, and they can be purchased in a variety of designs. Porcelain and ceramic tiles are less slippery than other types of tiles, which is another factor that should be taken into consideration before choosing a type of tile for your shower wall.
Choosing a tile pattern
There are many different patterns to choose from when creating a tiled shower. You can select solid colors, geometric shapes, or intricate patterns to add texture to your shower. Choosing a pattern that incorporates multiple colors is another option that can help tie the entire room together. You can also select a color for each tile and vary the tile size and shape to bring out the design. Mixing and matching different colors is another option that can create an eclectic look for your tiled shower.
When choosing a tile pattern for your tiled shower, make sure to consider your space. If you’re tiling a small bathroom, you’ll want to choose a lighter color that will make the room feel more spacious. Darker colors can make the shower area feel cramped and small. Another factor to consider is the difficulty of cleaning textured tiles in a small area like the shower. The moisture in the shower can make them more difficult to clean.
One of the best ways to choose the right tile pattern is to visit showrooms or home improvement stores and see the tiles in your room in person. You may find that it’s difficult to choose the perfect tile pattern by browsing online images. Seeing a sample in your room will give you a better idea of how the tile will look in your shower.
Large format tiles aren’t a good choice for a tiled shower because they cause lippage. They must be laid next to one another, allowing for a gradual taper towards the drain. This creates eight intersecting flat planes that lead to a square drain. You can avoid this problem by installing a linear drain, single slope shower base, or linear drain.
While it’s easy to mock up the floor and tile pattern, figuring out the layout is not as simple. The layout of the walls and niches may be particularly tricky. If you want to make them stand out, you can use smaller tiles with an accent color to add traction and style. Mosaics are also a great option for difficult to tile areas.
Choosing a color for a tiled shower
Choosing a color for a tile shower can be a challenge, as it is a semi-permanent fixture. It is important to choose a color that will stand the test of time. However, if you are looking for a stylish look, you can opt for a trendy color. Some people like to use glass subway tiles, which have become increasingly popular over the past decade. Unlike regular tiles, glass subway tiles will not fade and will last for many years with the right fixtures.
A neutral color is the safest option for most bathrooms. It offers just a hint of color without being too distracting. It is also universally flattering and will still look great even years after the installation is done. Listed below are some helpful tips for choosing a color for your tiled shower:
Beige is a neutral color that goes well with other colors. It can also be used as an inset for a wall niche. Beige is a great choice for a tiled shower because it is easy to clean. Moreover, it is also a great option for shower floors.
You should take into account the design of your shower before deciding on the color of the tiles. For example, a curved shower bench requires smaller tiles that are suitable for both the walls and floor. The size of the tiles will also play an important role in the overall effect. Most homeowners choose larger tiles for the walls and smaller ones for the shower pan. It will mean less grout lines and a less busy visual.
Shower floor tile is important for the safety of people using the shower. A slippery shower floor is a huge risk for falls, so choosing a tile that is slip resistant is a wise choice. It is also important to choose tiles with grout lines to make the floor more safe for standing.
Cleaning a tiled shower
A tiled shower can be a hard job to clean, but luckily you have plenty of options. One of these is baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, which you can purchase just about anywhere. This combination is powerful enough to clean most tiled surfaces, but it’s not harmful to the environment. You can also buy a microfiber mop to reach high-up tiles. After applying the paste, leave it to sit for a half hour or so, then rinse it off thoroughly with water.
The first step in cleaning a tiled shower is to remove any moisture. A squeegee can be used to clean the shower’s walls and corners. Once it is dry, wipe off the remaining moisture with a microfiber cloth. You can also use soap or another cleansers if you want to avoid using vinegar. Be sure to use caution when using any cleaning solution on glass tiles, as the acid content can wear away the sealer.
A vinegar solution is also an excellent choice when cleaning ceramic tiles. You can make it yourself by mixing 1 part vinegar to four parts water and wiping the shower with a microfiber cloth. If you are looking for an even stronger solution, you can purchase a commercial tile grout cleaner. Just remember to follow the instructions on the bottle!
You can also use a toothbrush to scrub the tiles and grout. The bristles should be stiff enough to scrub away stubborn soap scum and dirt. You can also use a squeegee or hand towel to remove excess moisture and solids. Always use a shower cleaner approved for the type of tile.
A steam cleaner is another great option when cleaning tile. This powerful cleaner is great for cleaning shower walls and floors, but you have to make sure it’s compatible with the tiles and grout. Never use acidic cleaning solutions on stone tiles, because they can permanently damage the walls and tiles. You may be able to use vinegar on a stone tile, but this can damage the grout, so it’s best to avoid using vinegar.

Frequently Asked Questions
What colour looks best in a bathroom?
There is no definitive answer to this question. Everyone has different tastes and preferences so what works in one bathroom may not work well in another. However, some popular colours for bathrooms include white, cream, light blue, and pale green. These colours create a serene and calming atmosphere in bathrooms. The individual can choose which colour they prefer for their bathroom.
White is the best choice for bathrooms because it makes the space appear bigger and more spacious. It can also be combined with other colours and decor. Another popular choice is cream, which creates an inviting and warm feeling. Because it promotes relaxation, light blue is often used for bathrooms. It can also give the space a spa-like feeling. A bathroom with a pale green color is a good choice. It has a soothing effect and can create a relaxing atmosphere. The best color for a bathroom is the one that makes people feel most relaxed and comfortable.

Can I Install A Bidet In A Small Bathroom?
It is possible for a bathroom to have a bidet, but you must be careful. First, the location of the bidet must be considered carefully. It should be placed near the toilet, but not too close. Second, the size and type of bidet you choose must be appropriate for the size of your bathroom. Make sure your bathroom has the right plumbing to accommodate a bidet. You should always consult a professional before installing a bidet within a small bathroom.
How can you make a bathroom look new?
Most bathroom renovations today require only a new coat of paint and some fixtures. Sometimes, however, even these simple updates may not be enough.
In these instances, investing in an entirely new bathroom renovation may make sense. This is especially true in homes built before 1980 where the plumbing system can cause leakage and water damage.
It doesn’t need to be overwhelming. With some planning and preparation, you’ll find yourself well on your way to a beautiful new space. Here’s how to tackle an enormous project.
Create a plan. It doesn’t matter if you hire professionals or do the job yourself.
It’s also important to decide whether you prefer to renovate existing spaces, or to create a completely new layout. You will likely have to take down walls if you choose the latter to ensure drainage.
Once you’ve decided which direction to go, draw out rough floor plans and measure each room carefully.
Next, select a color scheme. Although neutral tones like white, gray and brown are very popular, they may not be the right choice for your home. You should choose colours that are complementary to your existing decor. For example, if your house features lots of wood, you could incorporate warm shades like red, orange, yellow, and gold.
While it can be hard to pick a color palette, it’s important to keep your options open. You should allow plenty of time for furniture, appliances, and accessories shopping.
Also, make sure to check the local building codes. There may be requirements to obtain permits depending on where you live. In certain instances, you may need a permit from your municipal hall. If you don’t know what code applies to your location, you can contact your local Building Inspection Division of British Columbia. They will be able to help you with the details of your project.
Reputable Bathroom contractors can help you decide the best way to proceed. They can provide guidance and advice on how to proceed. And don’t forget to take advantage of tax deductions. Tax credit could be granted to those who make significant renovations, especially ones that are energy efficient.

Here are 10 things no one tells you about bathroom renovations
The bathroom is often neglected when it comes to home improvements. However, this room is an essential part of any house. There are many things you can do to improve your bathroom.
Here are some suggestions to help you start your bathroom transformation without spending too much.
You can soften the look of the bathroom by painting the walls with pastel colors like white, pink, yellow or light blue. Although the effect is subtle, it adds charm and character to the space.
You can add lighting to your bathroom. There are many options available. A lighting fixture is a great way to brighten the room and highlight the wall’s colour. String lights and small fluorescent bulbs are also options.
Incorporate Storage Space – If you have limited storage space, you’ll be glad to know that installing shelves above the toilet or under the vanity cabinet can provide plenty of extra storage space. These shelves can be used for towels, toiletries, and other items that are close to your heart.
Install a shower curtain – Shower curtains are an easy and useful addition to any bathroom. You can customize them to fit your bathroom decor.
Get Creative with Your Towels – Towels are a great way to liven up your bathroom, especially if you have a boring old towel rack. Instead of hanging boring towels on a rod, hang some colorful towels. This will not only give you fresh towels but also allow you to have some fun in your bathroom.
Invite Nature in – While it may seem strange to keep plants in the bathroom’s bathrooms, it creates a nice atmosphere. Make sure you choose plants that won’t attract bugs, though.
Create a Relaxing Bathroom Atmosphere – You can create a relaxing environment using scented candles and oils. These are inexpensive additions to your bathroom, and they can create a calming ambiance.
Go Green – It doesn’t mean you have to build a green bathroom. One example is to replace your disposable toilet paper roll with a reusable. Alternately, you can switch to more environmentally-friendly cleaning products.
Transform your Vanity Cup – Vanity cabinets come in a variety of materials, including metal, wood and plastic. You can modify their design, add features or replace the whole cabinet.
You should update your toilet paper holder. The toilet paper holders play a crucial role in organizing and cleaning up your bathroom. It is time to change its appearance. This can be done in many ways, including changing its shape, size, and colour.

Bathroom Ceramic Tile - Tips for Using Ceramic Custom Tile
Bathroom ceramic tile is a good choice because of its durability, resistance to dampness and its ease of cleaning. Bathroom ceramic tile can range from inexpensive to very expensive, and it is a classic choice for a bathroom.
Ceramic tile is formed from clay, shale or porcelain, then fired at very high temperatures until it hardens. The higher the temperature and the more times the tile is fired, the harder and less porous the tile becomes. Tile for bathrooms comes in many shapes, sizes, patterns and textures. Tile shapes can be squares, rectangles, hexagons and octagons. Accent tiles are narrow-shaped and diamond-shaped pieces.
Tile can be glazed or unglazed. Unglazed bathroom ceramic tile is simply baked pieces of clay whose colors are determined by the mineral content of the clay. These tiles are the workhorses of the industry. Generally thicker and shower door denser than glazed tiles, they include products such as quarry tiles and porcelains. The toughness of unglazed tiles make them ideally suited (but not limited to) heavy commercial installations.
Here are tips for using ceramic tile in a bathroom:
Consider using unglazed bathroom ceramic tile if you want to have the most slip-resistant surface. The rugged surface texture and matte finish of these tiles give them good slip-resistant qualities for use in wet areas. If you buy and install unglazed tiles for your bathroom floor, they will need to be cleaned frequently because they absorb oil and stains quite easily. Examples of unglazed tiles are quarry tiles, porcelain tiles and terra-cotta tiles which can be handmade or machine-made.
If you are using a white or cream ceramic tile for your bathroom, using a different color grout like "blue" will give your bathroom a more dramatic look.
Make sure you apply sealers to grout lines in areas of heavy wear, like countertops. Sealers will protect and preserve grout colors.
For a floor surface that is virtually stainproof, use glazed bathroom ceramic tile. Glazed bathroom ceramic tile is made the same way as unglazed tile, but it undergoes an additional process. A glass layer is applied, then subjected to tremendous heat in a kiln. This process liquefies the glass and fuses it to the bisque. Glazes offer an unlimited array of beautiful colors, textures and designs and create a surface that is practically stainproof and very wearable. While most glazed tiles are for light residential to medium commercial traffic uses, recent technological advances produce glazed tiles that are hard and durable enough to stand up to the most demanding commercial applications.
To make your bathroom floor more exciting, add patterns, floor accents or small splashes of color using ceramic custom tile pieces. Or consider using large rectangular decorative sections placed in the middle of the floor. Custom ceramic tile or art tile can be found with Victorian, Mexican or Moorish styled designs and they can also be used as bathroom backsplashes, tub surrounds and in showers.
For countertops and backsplashes, make sure the tiles are glazed and can withstand household cleaners. And backsplashes are a great place to add decorative tile.
To tie it all together, pay attention to the available bathroom accessories. Towel bars, ceramic soap dishes, toothbrush/cup holders -- you'll want these to blend in well with your bathroom ceramic tile.
With all the choices that await you today, have fun as you select the styles, colors, patterns and sizes of bathroom ceramic tile and related details for your bathroom. You'll want your bathroom to be a fun, cozy room to spend time in, and bathroom ceramic tile can help create that kind of atmosphere. Bathroom ceramic tile is decorative and lasting -- use it in the ways you want for having the bathroom that you can enjoy every day.
